“Establish prayer at the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night and the Quran of dawn. Indeed the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.[Surah Al-Israa, 78]

Hazrat Abu Hurairah R.A narrated that Prophet P.B.U.H said: “Learn the Quran and recite it, because the example of one who learns the Quran, reads it and recites it in Tahajjud is like an open bag full of musk, the fragrance where of spreads over the entire place, and a person who has learnt the Quran but sleeps while the Quran is in his heart, is like a bag full of musk but with its mouth closed.”  [Tirmizi, Nasai]


 

Abu bin adhem

Abu Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)

Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,

And saw, within the moonlight in his room,

Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,

An angel writing in a book of gold:

Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,

And to the presence in the room he said,

"What writest thou?"The vision raised its head,

And with a look made of all sweet accord,

Answered, "The names of those who love the Lord."

"And is mine one?" said Abu. "Nay, not so,"

What do you say when a dog is coming to attack you? What do you say when you sense someone may harass you? What do you say when you fear that a person may oppress you?

The bottom line is, dear sisters what do you say when you fear that there is someone who may harm you? In addition to taking the proper action, there is a dua which you should say in such cases, so that Allah may suffice you and protect you from their harm. It was a dua as narrated in “Muslim”, which a young man said to be protected from an oppressive ruler who sought to kill him. Why? Due to his faith. The ruler sent him with a group of soldiers to the top of the mountain to be thrown off the cliff. But the young man said the dua, so the mountain shook, the soldiers fell and he survived.

The Month of Safar

Safar is the second month of the Islamic calendar. This time of the year was considered to be cursed as many catastrophes and calamities took place. However this belief has been proven to be false and totally without foundation (absurd).

 This can also be confirmed by the following Hadith:.

Jabir (R.A.) has said that, "I have heard the Prophet  saying, the descending of illness and evil superstition. befalling in the month of Safar is untrue." (Muslim)
