would spare time for the elderly even in
America. She respected Americans as she
did her own. She said she feels indebted
to America as it has opened new horizons
of knowledge for her. I want to spread my
spiritualism and the
teachings of the holy
Quran because together
this is the solution of
our problems. One day
an old woman was
crossing the road in
the cold rainy weather,
the woman had an
umbrella in one hand
and shopping bag in
the other. Aafia stopped
her car and offered
the lady a ride, dried her, completed her
errands and shopping and finally took
her to her destination, the woman said
thank you and got off but the look in that
woman’s eyes as she kept staring after us
said more than any thanks could.
Payam-e-Haya:
kindly comment on
the 86 year sentence given to aafia by
American court:
Ismat Siddiqui
:
All charges against
my daughter have been proven false by
American sources and witnesses and so
any sentence is a pure injustice. Not just
us even the American courts know that
Aafia has been convicted for a crime she
did not commit. American people who
hear of Aafia’s case too feel outraged
and sad at the exploitation of justice.
I am sure of one thing my daughter is
innocent and every second she remains
locked up is severe injustice. America
claims to champion of human rights, if
their is any truth to that claim it should
free aafia. I pray Allah guide the rulers of
Muslim countries, give them the courage
and dignity to stand up with the resolve of
Mu’tasim Billah and Tariq Bin Zayad and
muhammad bin Qasim. I hope they fulfil
their duty to their nation and to Islam. I
fear the test is now theirs and I pray they
leave a legacy of dignity not shame.
Payam-e-Haya:
In this whole ordeal
what has hurt you the most?
Ismat Siddiqui
:
You know the false
allegations that are tagged to Aafia
Not just us even the
American courts know that aafia has
been convicted for a crime she did not
commit . American people who
hear of Aafia’s case too feel outraged
and sad at the exploitation
of justice.
