his commitment to justice. His book
“Aafia Siddiqui Other Voices” has heart
felt articles on Aafia. He mentions his
feelings that he read out to me about what
he witnessed, hearing that made me miss
aafia terribly but at the same time a sense
of pride came over me that Allah seems
to be taking the work of Saints from my
daughter. Also his visit gave me a pinch
of despair that this person comes all the
way from America to tell Aafia’s Pakistani
brothers and sisters of what an amazing
woman the daughter of their nation is. I
wish our leaders would realize Aafia is no
ordinary woman. This is someone Allah
has chosen for something very special.
Mauri Salaakhan had tears in his eyes
when he told me that you have no idea
how many people have attained peace and
a new life from Aafia’s plight . She is an
innocent woman and he is ashamed of his
government for overlooking the evidence
and causing this
injustice.
Payam-e-
Haya:
Mian
Nawaz sharif’s
Maryam and
Aafia’s Maryam...
Would you care
to comment ?
Ismat
Siddiqui
:
When
nawaz sharif
was imprisoned his daughter Maryam
would not have prayed as much as my
aafia prayed for him. Aafia’s Maryam
is imploring that uncle nawaz please
help bring my mother back whereas
Maryam nawaz is trying to emerge as the
representative of youth yet is silent on
the mother of our Maryam. Aafia did all
she could for the freedom of Mian nawaz
sharif but nawaz sharif is not even doing
the least of what he could do.
Payam-e-Haya:
Can you tell us
something about aafia that you haven’t
shared before?
Ismat Siddiqui
:
Aafia is a beautiful
merge of east and west. Along with
being faithful to her religion she was a
patriot and prayed in the middle of the
night for Pakistan and all its leaders. She
The love and support extended
to me by everyone though elates me but at the
same time makes me miss Aafia all the more that how
please must Allah be with her that in her suffering Allah
has granted me with several loving daughters and sons
who have become as dear to me as my own. I
consider myself blessed and
honoured.
