prepared the preamble of constitution known as Qarardad e Maqasid.
After that he went to Liaqat Ali Kahn and told him, “till now I have been
striving for Islamization of constitution of Pakistan but it was impeded
and now I have prepared this document. If you can get it passed
from the assembly I will remain with you otherwise please accept my
resignation and consider today’s meeting as the last one.” Liaqat Ali
was a wise and noble man. He realized the horrible consequences
of my father’s resignation. As my father had a country wide following,
Liaqat Ali had forseen the unrest in case of his resignation. So he
assured my father of getting the documents passed from the assembly.
The next day Liaqat
Ali khan and Maulana
Usmani
delivered
speeches in the
Assembly and after
that the document
was approved by
all the members
of
assembly
unanimously.
All
the
scholars
of
Karachi witnessed
this historic event
including
myself.
These speeches were broadcasted on the national radio too and
people celebrated the movement with zeal. It was a milestone in the
constitutional history of Pakistan as with this resolution approved
Pakistan headed towards the achievement of the goal behind her
formation. Liaqat Ali Khan encountered a lobby in order to get this
resolution approved and as a result he was martyred in Rawalpindi.
We should celebrate the Independence Day with prayers for the
safety and solidarity of Pakistan and the promulgation of Islamic
constitution in Pakistan. MayAllah protect our country keeping both her
geographic and visionary boundaries intact! We should commemorate
the independence of Pakistan keeping our flag high as it symbolizes
the vision of Islam, the unity of Muslims of the entire world and the
nationality of Islam. May Allah be our protector!
The flag of Pakistan was
wavered by Maulana Usmani in
Karachi at the wish of Quaid e
Azam. In Dhaka, the ceremony
was performed by Maulana
Zafar Usmani Thanvi, a relative
of Maulan Ashraf Ali Thanvi who
lead PakistanMovement himself.
Thus our elders played a central
role in Pakistan Movement. May
Allah protect our flag forever!
