hand see Aafia’s case, what an innocent and brilliant sister with an extraordinary
intellectual background and we have not raised our voice for them. In this regard
Aafia’s family, I, Maulana Shafiq Ajmal and some other religious scholars are
consistently making efforts. I wish the conscientious class of this country i.e.
rulers would take a daring step and bring her back to Pakistan. I wish someday
the Truth will be triumphant and phony be exposed and wiped out. I dream for the
day when Muslims will express themselves as true Muslims and Ummah will be
a united Ummah. I pray to Allah may Aafia be released soon and may her family
see her and meet her. In the end I would like to acknowledge the unceasing efforts
of my brother Shafiq Ajmal for the release of Aafia. May he achieve his goal!
Maulana Ahemd Banori,
Famous Religious Scholar
ImprisonedAafia is an extremely tragic incident
of Muslim Ummah. The Islamic concept of
brotherhood links the Muslims from the Nile to
Kashghar; if aMuslimgets hurt by a thorn in one
part of the world other Muslims from far flung
areas feel his/her pain in their hearts hence
this is a matter of our Ummah’s prestige. How
is it possible that her brothers won’t sense her
sniffling in the darkness of atrocious prisons?
How it can occur that mothers laps remain
warmed with their kids and they forget mother
apples of whose eyes are parted from her? Dr.
Aafia’s serenity is immortal as when she chose
a path; never let any interest creep in rather
made her way memorable and precious. Such
an endurance and patience is not even destined
for the people of very high scholarly prestige
who enjoyed high esteem in the religious
circles. Today we should revisit our past of last
three decades to see that how many ordinary
people were killed abusively and how many
passionate people were lead to the desert of mortality and how many Aafias were
buried alive in the tombs of Ummah’s aspirations. This is our past and we will
not be able to escape this pitfall until we choose a rightly guided trail for future.
